Late night Jenny update: She had a better day, visited by - TopicsExpress

Late night Jenny update: She had a better day, visited by sisters, nephews, friends, her mother and other sorts of family...a really great support system. Bobbi her daughter is staying with her in the room, getting necessary items shipped in with visitors, me included. Thursday she had 2 more incidents that are like catatonic seizures where she will just stare off like in a haze or daydream right in the middle of something, as if triggered when she has to make choices(like when she was accepting numerous FB friend requests) but we are not too sure of what triggers it by a long shot. Her diet and dependency on Pepsi is probably, more than likely, going to be coming to an end, as a more restrictive diet, exercise along with a good round of medications will be on her menu for the foreseeable future. For instance, she has been given 2 different types of insulin, both fast acting and longer lasting regular insulin for type 2 diabetes, which has brought her blood sugar down some from the mid 200s to just hovering between 208 and 183, over 100 points down, which is great from where she was. Her sonogram occurred yesterday and I got to witness that, which I found fascinating. To watch her blood flow and see the circulatory pathways with Doppler colorization really gave me some peace of mind first hand that blood was going through her carotid arteries well, and unobstructed with good velocity. Today she got a battery of tests, from echo cardiogram to EEG to other things, including a pregnancy test(negative...whew! lol) The goal is to get her glucose down, stabilized and see what level of insulin she needs daily, then focus on the cause of the seizures and stroke. Indications are that it quite possibly could be diabetes but the doctors are throwing all kinds of tests to make sure all bases are covered. Jenny, being the smart-ass she is, has thrown back during tests to show a little disdain for her surroundings in hopes she will get out of the hospital soon enough to get back to work and other things. For example, when asked to name as many states of the U.S.A. in one minute, she went down the east coast and proceeded west, mistaking Boston for a state then immediately correcting herself, but continued on...well past the one minute mark but the nurse didnt want to stop her because she was on a roll. I am going to phone in a question for her to name all the counties of Indiana! Chew on that a while ya smart ass ginger! lol j/k I am trying to be strong emotionally, but its hard to be strong this time, especially when I feel like I am doing nothing and being a wreck so much I cant see straight myself, but I am trying. Please continue to pray for her so she can get back to her normal self. We appreciate all the support shown and expressed and I know that helps her mood. Thanks! Sincerely, Joe York
