Lately Im becoming more aware of how much we need to control one anothers behavior through enforced convention, and this doesnt just apply to the usual suspects in Talibans of all religions, etc. But also in the sensitive, liberal, enlightened impulses like political correctness, trigger warnings, parenting maxims, positivity cults, spiritual epigrams, etc. And before you libertarian types feel too superior, I could name a few knee-jerk, paroxym inducing, behavior controlling hot buttons of yours too. Although I know that conventional reasoning is an indelible part of human thinking (and probably cetacean and ape thinking too), it is surprising how shocking I find it that we seem to have a deep and powerful drive to create myths, rules, roles, black & white mores, etc., around almost *everything*. I think we almost never outgrow it. As soon as I think I am past it, it turns up and bites my rear somewhere else.
