Lately there has been a lot of comparison between Aussies and GSDs. I wanted to share this. Some people have stated that the GSD is suppose to be a trotting wall when working stock, however this is a real life shepherd (his sheep are his livelihood) working with his German Shepherd Dog. This dog is German herding bred (not specifically working). If you notice, this dog does not trot when working this stock. Now, IMO, the herding style is still a bit different than Aussies (but not hugely so), but this dog is required to work sheep everyday for hours a day. I think it is important to share this because the GSD breed has a split, working lines (protection) are different than working lines (herding). Also they have a difference in American lines and German lines. I wish I could find a stacked photo of this dog, but I have only found his son. In reference to the extreme angulation some of the lines have, this dog (the son) may not be as extreme as some but still has a well laid back shoulder, a slightly sloping topline, and decent angulation in the rear. https://youtube/watch?v=9iT-St_vsEg
