Leaders are help to a higher level of expectations. When a local administrative team cannot or will not discipline a pastor-teacher, the concern is shared w the church. If the pastor-teacher continues to hedge or divert (rather than confess and repent), the charges eventually known by outsiders. If the pastor-leader continues in his sin, even the world begins to join in. Thats what has been happening. This is something that Mark Driscoll has done. It is about Driscolls refusal - to the point of lying, deceiving, and mocking his own leadership team and elders board - to stop the pattern of sin. Do not shoot the messengers, my dear friends. There is now publicly available documentation that the Mars Hill leadership has attempted to reign in (discipline) Driscoll for over a decade. God used King David for His glory after he repented from his sins; may God also use Driscoll again when he gets his spiritual act together.
