Leadership has not failed the membership. Its the other way around. I was hired in 1980 and had full wages and most of my benefits in 90 days. We were encouraged to attend Union meetings and help with our struggle. I could never get members I represented to lend a hand. They were always too busy with their wonderful middle class lives. We spent many years fighting NAFTA before Bill Clinton signed that terrible treaty into law. only a handful of our members had the guts to show up at protest like their leaders did . Thats why all was lost. Time and again I prove this to be true. There is a parallel with whats happening to our government and the downfall of Unions in America. Citizens are too busy watching Dancing with the Stars to join the Occupy protests. Thats part and parcel why youve lost your beloved Republic to Fascists. BTW, typing here on Facebook doesnt count as activism. Activism, is hitting the streets.
