Learn How to be a Tour Guide with Le Chéile Education - Short QQI Accredited Tour Guide & Heritage Training Course Level 6 Now Available. Leading Irelands Rural Development & Training providers Le Chéile Education have introduced the tailor – made short, accredited, hands-on training course for Tour Guides with optional Tour Guiding Badge to successful participants. Designed for rural, urban, and regional area Tour Guides who are either permanent employees, casual, free-lance or community volunteers, coach drivers, museum staff etc. The diversity of previous participants included: Uisneach, Ghost Tours, Estates Tours, Music Tours, Museum Tours, and Outdoor Walks etc. The course comprises both theoretical and practical content with emphasis on hands-on activities, on-site training in practice and role plays. Next public training course starting in Mullingar October 11th, but held nationwide on-site or in-house sector training, the content covers generic guiding skills as interpretive presentations, customer service, duty of care, health & safety, dealing with emergencies, leadership, heritage & cultural awareness, environmental responsibilities, dealing with conflict, marketing, promotions, networking, sales and more. Le Chéile Education has been committed to Rural & Community Development training since the company inception in 2009. Their goal is to have rural Ireland’s social and economic progress to the fore of local development and ideally improve the quality of tourism and related enterprises in rural areas. “To have as many accredited professional tour guides in rural areas to tap into the authentic natural resource, facilities, and environmental uniqueness for a better and safer visitor experience. We want to give status, respect and esteem rural tourism deserves and already enjoys in many other parts of the world” Excellent courses of a longer duration are available at a number of learning institutions throughout Ireland. However, believing that an inexpensive short course was the key to wide scale Tour Guide training, Le Chéile Education developed their first Tour Guide Training Program two years ago in conjunction with the FETAC & QQI Changes in order to deliver a European recognised quality qualifications standards with progression options and optional tour guiding badge. The price for the course is €595 per person including class delivery, learning support, practical on-site training session, certification, assessment. Funding may apply to registered unemployed or those in receipt of DSP payments. Numbers are limited.
