Learning to dress on the bike for varied weather conditions can take some trial + error. My go to is base layer, short sleeve jersey, arm warmers, and vest. This is a 4-season solution for me in northern California. In colder months, I wear a DeFeet International wool base layer. In warmer months, I substitute a Pactimo synthetic base layer. Only in temperatures above 80 degrees do I skip the base layer all together. So, why is a base layer so important?
