Leeds Local Flood Risk Management Strategy - Public Consultation The Flood & Water Management Act 2010 requires all Lead Local Flood Authorities to prepare a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS). The local strategy details: · How the Authority intends to address flood risk in its area. · The objectives for managing flood risk. · The measures proposed to achieve those objectives. · Timeframe for any measures. · Benefits of the measures and how they are to be funded. As part of the process of drawing up this strategy, it is necessary to undertake formal consultation on the Draft Strategy. The consultation will involve making contact with communities, action groups, business representatives, parish councils and the general public. This note is intended to inform Members of the LFRMS and make them aware of the consultation before it commences on 16th September 2013 for two months. The consultation will be advertised through various media and the information will be made available on a web-page, at local libraries and One-Stop centres. The documents that will be made available are: - · A briefing note on the Leeds Local Flood Risk Management Strategy · A summary of the List of Measures and Policies · A plan showing the location of the proposed Measures · And a Questionnaire Access will be available to the main documents from Monday 9th September 2013, these are: · The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy · Appendices: - o A – UKCP09 Climate Projections for Leeds City Council o B – Communication Plan o C – List of Measures o E – Strategic Environmental Assessment Report Please get back to me if you have any queries or require any further information.
