Lesson 1: A man must know hes limitations. 1/1/15... I work-out everyday, but problems is... I mostly do weight training and strength building exercises. Well today, I decided to take on a cardio session. So I head out to a local church in my neighborhood, along with my family, where they teach weekly cardio routine exercises. Let me start by saying I was the second youngest person there. In my efforts to not appear out of shape, which I knew was. I started strong, with great form keeping pace with the church sisters, who were mostly 30+ years older. But as time progressed, 25-30 mins in, I realized MAN! Its getting harder to breath... Im getting dizzy. In order to spare myself the embarrassment I kept pushing. Only to start to see everything turn Gray right before my eyes. So I go outside while sister mary and the rest of my family are still at it, with my Ego and my enegry levels at zero. I drank some water and blackout!!! Not knowing my limitations and that everyone else had been doing this routine for months before I ever showed up. I never learned to pace myself or what my limitations were. The most valuable lessons I learned was that A man/woman most know their limitations. and stop comparing your beginners form to the person or people who have spent more time in building endurance. -Stephen Surgeon
