Lessons Have Been Learned Written by Andrew Dickson Lessons Have Been Learned ROBBIE CRAWFORD says Rangers have a duty to go to Forfar this weekend and show they’re far better than their last result there suggested. The young midfielder was part of the Light Blues team which lost 2-1 to the Loons in extra-time in the first round of the League Cup at the start of August. In a campaign where Gers have made an excellent start to their bid for the League One title, that loss in Angus stands out as the sole disappointment of 2013/14 to date. In the time since that fixture, Ally McCoist’s team has won each of its seven matches and scored an impressive haul of 28 goals on the way. But thoughts of what happened against Dick Campbell’s men will undoubtedly linger when the Ibrox outfit goes back to Station Park on Sunday lunchtime. Crawford is adamant the players who were involved in the reverse almost seven weeks ago have used it positively in the aftermath. But he knows it’s up to everyone who featured two days from now to prove that when they take to the field once again searching for three points. Crawford, 20, said: “That’s the only game where we’ve really let ourselves down and it was obviously a disappointing result. “We had chances to win the game but it didn’t happen for us on the day. They took theirs and it was hard for us to take. “Hopefully we’ve learned from it and we can put things right on Sunday. It has built character and I think we’ve responded really well to what happened there. “Now I think we need to go there and prove we’re better than we showed the last time. It’s another three points for us to try to get and it’s important we do that. “Our momentum has been building and we’ve got a good squad together now. It’s more experienced but there’s a lot of youth as well. “It’s special to be a part of that so we can’t let what happened at Forfar before play on our minds. “When you lose at a club like this it’s a big deal but we’ve moved on and I think we’ve learned our lesson from the game a few weeks ago.” /john
