Lessons learned today on why you train and prepare. Minus a little nausea at one point that eventually passed it was a tweak/pulling in my knee that really almost stopped me cold. I think now it was the extra weight from testing all the gear and the mileage. If I were to just gain 10 extra pounds I probably would not make my next run be such a distance. I would ease into it over time. But I did not take that into account. All the gear was comfortable and manageable, nutrition was on point and recovery feels good. I am also blessed with amazing friends that made sure I was okay. Mentally there were a lot of positives today. I will take the lessons learned and apply them. Excited about lots of miles at the end of the week between San Francisco and Napa so I will rest up for that next adventure.
