Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day [Jesus’ second coming] will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin [Antichrist] is revealed… (2 Thes. 2:3) The coming of the lawless one [Antichrist] is…with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and unrighteous deception…because they did not receive the love of the truth. (2 Thes. 2:9-10) The battle is real and everything we do in this life effects eternity. We are not living our days here on the earth in a vacuum, just waiting to leave it all behind but the transition between now and eternity I believe will be seamless and the reason why is because we already from the day we were born again became an eternal being with no end. We will live forever with Christ and we are already seated with Christ in heavenly places as a born again believer, I am already living out of eternity. I am already there but I am here on this earth preparing the way of the Lord for His return which means making available to every soul the Lord allows me to touch, an open door; an invitation to the wedding day. To make the pathway for the Lord known in the earth as we know Him, now seated at the right hand of the Father. Our lives are like a window to heaven open for the blessing of God to flow out of, an open door to the throne where anyone can see and know God until they come into fellowship with Him by receiving His death for their sins. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables… (2 Tim. 4:3-4) They “fell away” because at one time they were with the Lord, following Him, living for Him, surrendered to Him but under great pressure they rejected Jesus. This pressure is not like anything we have endured today but I do believe we can look at certain parts of History and imagine what that type of persecution it could be…like the Holocaust. Here in our western culture we suffer if we have to wait in line for something ….Lord help wake us up! The power of pressure to cause a believer to reject salvation is something we truly need to understand. Imagine standing at the door of a gas chamber where thousands scream out their last breath …..This is where they say you are headed unless you reject Christ. The stench of hundreds of thousands of bodies decaying in piles all around you – death is your only hope to be released from the pain of torture and and the deepest catastrophic humiliation you have ever faced….. Just deny Christ as your Lord and you will be spared…..multitudes will say yes to Satan and worship the anti-christ. We will witness it….see it and be unable to stop these souls from taking hell as their home…it will be too late! Oh that we would have a reality of hell…of everlasting eternity in torment…. we will witness it at some level and we will be invited again and again to make this choice under more and more pressure…serve God or the devil. Oh that we would choose now the road less traveled that we would count worthy His love to be willing to die for Him. That we would find His love worth whatever it takes to make Him known in every sphere of this world and the one to come. Do we really KNOW HIM? Do we REALLY have fellowship...intimacy with God? How do we know? DO we hear Him all day speaking to us? The coming of the Lord is the sign of the rapture of the Church and He doesn’t come until there is a great falling away….that battle for the church is what will be the battle of the endtimes. Deception is just that, it is not widely known or it would not be deceiving. When they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them. (1 Thes. 5:3)
