Lets backtrack to yesterday for a quick update! Yesterday (Sunday 11/3) Dave got moved to a room with a VIEW...he told me that it feels bigger and that it is nice to be able to see the mountains! We spoke on the phone last night and Dave is in GREAT spirits and seems to be coping well! A HUGE thank you goes out to Bill Koch, as his visit was the highlight of the day and possibly the week! Dave and Bill spent a couple of hours together and discussed the events of that horrible night! They were able to piece together what actually happened, which seemed to give Dave some peace of mind to finally understand what happened!! For those of you that dont know, Bill Koch was one of the first people on the scene that night and it is quite possible that without his and a few other peoples efforts, that we might not be so lucky to still have Dave with us! SO, from Dave and all the rest of his family and friends...we send our sincerest thanks to them!!! They are HEROES!!! On to today... Today is another surgery day...hopefully the LAST one!! They are doing the skin grafts for Daves left forearm and left thigh today! I spoke to Dave this morning and he was cautiously optimistic that this will be the last surgery! They took Dave down for surgery at approximately 9:30 and they expect the surgery to take about 2 1/2 hours. Erin got a phone call from the surgeon at 10:15, and they told her that he was under anesthesia and they were beginning the grafting! I will be back later on to let you all know when he comes out of surgery and how it went! Until then, PLEASE keep those positive thoughts and well wishes flowing!!
