Lets try something new here at DFW Scanner and see if it works. As our follower count increases, so do comments on our posts. We would like to see the comment section reserved for relevant information about the incident. This includes updates from us, others listening to their scanner(s), or people who are nearby the scene. All of this information combined serves to inform people who have an interest in the event, whether its a house fire in a neighborhood or a major traffic delay to avoid. That is one of the main reasons why we have switched to the ThereNow platform - so our followers can follow a link to see updates and relevant information if they have an interest. So we would like to ask you to do 2 things: 1) please refrain from tagging your friends in the comment section. Instead, send them a text message/FB message, share our post on their wall/in a message, or simply call them. Tagging comments add to the clutter of the comment section and people who are nearby may miss an important update. 2) Please refrain from commenting prayers. Let me type that again: please refrain from COMMENTING prayers. Did we ask you to stop praying? Absolutely not. As a Christian, I pray myself. But dozens upon dozens of prayer comments clutter up the comment section and hide our updates from people who are genuinely interested in the incident. So if you pray for the victims involved (which we encourage), that is awesome. To express you are praying, simply like the first prayer comment you see on a post. You have expressed you are praying without cluttering up the comment feed! I hope this makes sense to everyone.
