Letter to Spectator regarding PSNI participation NYC Brits out parade: I write in connection with the PSNI, who incidentally have been awarded Freedom of the Borough, taking part in the St Patricks day NYC parade. This anti-British fest decrees that the only banners carried are those that say England get out of Ireland and the only flag that can be carried is the Irish Tri-colour. The PSNI wilfully took part in this shameful expression of anti Britishness and I havent heard a whimper of protest from the DUP or UUP in relation to their participation in this sordid event. It seems to be the attempts to green the PSNI is picking up new momentum on an almost daily basis and I must say that it is wholly regrettable that a British police service would seek to walk alongside a foreign police force, who Judge Smithwick ruled had colluded previously with the IRA to murder RUC officers, and also walk behind a foreign flag in what was essentially a Brits out march. It stands in stark contrast with when Protestants seek to exercise civil and religious liberty through parading. Rather than taking part the PSNI can be found blocking the Queens Highway.
