Let’s face it: elites in government hate cars. and they hate the fact that most of YOU use cars every day to get to work. While elites like Governor Kitzhaber travel in large, pretty, late model, low gas mileage SUV’s, usually with a driver…they think the rest of you should be on the bus, on the train, pedaling, or taking the “shank’s mare” to work. They claim burning gasoline is wrecking the planet and they have declared an intention to make you stop it. Oregon refuses to build new freeways, they downsize major streets that YOU paid for, and they intentionally make driving more expensive. Uber is a car sharing service that promises private sector transportation, in cars, that’s convenient and less expensive than government regulated monopoly taxi cabs. So Portland city hall has sued UBER asking a judge to shut the company down. Mayor Charlie Hales and city commissioners owe a duty to run a government that benefits the citizens of this great city. Today Charlie has a two hour meeting today with the Ferguson hooligans who have jammed up city streets for the past weeks…anyone think he’ll demand THEY get a permit?
