Let’s summarize the Bergdahl situation for those not paying attention. * He deserted his post during war. * He apparently had snuck away twice before. * He converted to Islam and declared Jihad in 2010 * The president was supped to provide Congress with 30 day notification of the prisoner swap, but the administration felt this was too long so they ignored the law entirely. * Six soldiers died searching for Bergdahl, knowing that they were searching for a deserter. * Susan Rice told the world “Bergdahl served with distinction” which is both laughable and insulting. * While the White House has claimed that Bergdahl would have been killed if news of the deal had leaked, Senator Feinstein (D) says there is no evidence to that. * Freed Taliban members are vowing to fight Americans again. And the world recognizes that dealing with the Taliban like this puts a target on every American head anywhere near the Taliban. * The five freed Taliban members are some of the most heinous scum on the Earth, responsible for horrible massacres and destruction of people in their own country. * White House officials are trying to spread the idea that Bergdahl’s platoon-mates (those that think he should be court marshaled) are lying about what they saw while serving with him. * Bergdalh’s home town had the decency to cancel its welcome home celebration * The president is whining to the press that this whole thing is another non-controversy * Bringing Bergdahl’s parents to the Rose Garden might be one of the dumbest things this administration has done, and that’s really saying something. * In summary, those of you that voted for Obama because you thought he would bring back the perception of competence or White House should certainly realize by now that he has done the exact opposite. Here’s an article that I think sums it up nicely: “Over the last several months, the American public has had a hard and clear look at the executive talent inside the White House, and has begun to despair for real leadership and competence. When leadership fails, people stop following. It appears in the sixth year of the Barack Obama presidency, that moment has arrived. … Nothing about Obama’s performance in these scandals and debacles should give anyone confidence in his assurances — not of security, not of competence, not even of beingmadder than anyone. The polling numbers suggest that Americans have finally reached a point where the incompetence and dishonesty are just too obvious to ignore any longer.”
