Lies ICF promoters say: “Save money on your HVAC system!” Here is another half-truth. In reality, many ICF homeowners will spend more on their HVAC systems than their stick framed friends. This is because they care more about their indoor air quality and heating and cooling costs, so they will add an Energy Recovery Ventilator, and use “right-sized” equipment. Small equipment is very uncommon, so it costs more. Large residential homes and commercial buildings will save money because they won’t need three furnaces and 12 tons of cooling capacity; but for the majority of us, building a better home costs more in every department; HVAC included.
