Life and Death Story Today I take a break from the everyday fyup-tyup debate and tell you the story of my illegal life; illegal since 22nd May2014 at least. In the official records of the Honble High Court of Delhi I am supposed to be resting in peace with my creator in high heavens ! So what am I doing in this nether world of mere mortals ?? Now am I a living dead ?? There is an interesting story crying to be told. I retired in 2012 from KMC. I was in non pensionable CPF Scheme and I believed, along with many other senior colleagues, that the Pension Cum GPF scheme should be applicable to persons like me. I am skipping the relevant technical details, but I along with many of my kmc colleagues filed a writ petition in 2011 in the High Court of Delhi. Many other colleagues from different colleges and University Departments had also filed similar writs at different times. The judgement on kmc writ was pronounced on 22nd May2014. WE WON !! Judgement in favour !! Like an ordinary middle class person needing pension I broke into celebrations! With euphoric dreams of post pensioned cool comfortable life I was waiting for the written order of the Court containing the judgement. It normally takes 5to6 days. On 29 th May I received a call from a friend who was handling nitty gritty of courts procedures on our behalf that there is some typographical error in the written order. A typo which took my life away, literally so. What really happened ?? In our joint petition there were 21 petitioners. I was listed at No.3. A colleague, listed at No13, unfortunately expired during the pendency of the case. His family informed the Court through an affidavit before 22nd May14 that they are not interested in pursuing the case. But the Court Assistant who may have typed the Order must surely have been suffering from some kind of astigmatism ! ! He may not have seen1 of 13 ; and lo and behold, I(No 3) was confined to the world of phantoms, living zombies !! And the very day this typo made be posthumous in legal records, the courts went into summer vacation. After vacations Court has opened today !! Now I will follow the laid down procedure to be re declared alive by the Honble Court. I hope the Honble judge will pinch me here and there and declare me belonging to the category of living homosapiens. Pray for me please !!
