Life is unpredictable, as a saying weve all heard or said to someone at some point in our lives, and not giving much thought about it. When I was given the news of my mom who had collapsed at home and was paralyzed at the moment of impact, just as I stepped out of Chengdu International Airport, it was a huge blow to me. This saying seems so true and so unreasonable at the same time . Exactly 12 months ago she was mobile, energetic, travelling across cities within China, and was considered fairly healthy given her age (78 years old). The reality is cruel, but life will still go on. The sun would still rise in the east, and set in the west. My brother, sister and I quickly adapted to this new normality by going in and out of hospital caring for my mom day in day out tirelessly. I just wanted to say that how much I appreciate my brother and sister for their unconditional love and care to my mum and their graciousness for understanding my position that I wouldnt be able to be with them long term at this challenging time, as much as I would have wished for. So hang in there my dear mother, father and siblings, we will get through it!!
