Life’s disappointments are often God’s appointments. Most everything I have resisted and/or resented in my life turned out to be the very thing to stretch me, move me beyond what is comfortable and familiar and into something greater than I had imagined. I guess it also was dependent upon my attitude. Holding onto the familiar and comfortable until my knuckles turned white was only and indication of my selfishness and lack of trust in God’s divine direction. My tight grasp chocked the life out of me, making me bitter and resentful and needing to place the blame somewhere and usually, on someone. With maturity comes the willingness to just let it go. Nothing is ours to hoard. God gives and He takes away. His “taking away” is as much a gift as His “giving.” Trust Him with your situation today. When your head hits your pillow tonight, I hope you find peaceful sleep knowing that the God who will say to the sun in the morning, “Do it again, “ will rise and shine and that the SON will divinely direct your steps…. Psalm 37:23- “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way.
