Light a Candle...Let there be Peace. Its a story that has been told for thousands of years. It will be preached and sung and read and shared repeatedly this Christmas around the world. Each nation, sharing their own version of that glorious event. This year, may each one of us find someone to tell---someone to share our joy and faith, or even better, someone who still needs to know…light a candle of hope…. Light a candle for the child who needs more than presents this Christmas season. Light a candle for the young man who is lost and lonely and has no one to turn to. Light a candle for the old woman who sits all alone staring out a frosty windowpane waiting for someone to care. Light a candle to warm the home of a family with no heat. Light a candle for a homeless person who doesn’t have a warm place to lay his head or enough food to eat. Light a candle for the old bum lying on the street corner in a drunken stupor… Light a candle to bring light where there is darkness. Light a candle and let those be reminded that our beacon grace comes through the light of Jesus Christ. Light a candle with our nation and our people in mind because we are a sick nation, we have lost our brotherly love. Light a candle and Let there be light not only this Christmas, but throughout the year and let it shine through us. Light a candle for hope. Hope for today...Joy for tomorrow.
