Lightning strike causes fire which completely destroys local familys home Lightning ignited a fire that in a matter of minutes consumed the Lecanto home of local Horse Haven Farm owners Catherine and Eugene Fisher on Monday night. It was nearly 6 p.m. when their daughter, Sarah, noticed something was wrong. She was tending to the family’s horses in the nearby barn with her boyfriend Joe Gooch when she heard a loud clap of thunder. “The barn light popped and I smelled smoke,” Sarah said, looking at what remained of her family’s home. “I thought it was the barn, but (it was) fine.” Catherine and Eugene were in the other end of the house with two of their dogs when the lightning struck and their daughter called, concerned about how loud the thunder was.
