Like all Canadians, I am shocked and mortified by the events that have taken place today in Ottawa. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. Please note that all campaign volunteer activities (including the phone canvass at my place this evening) have been cancelled until further notice. To our friends and family still under lock-down on Parliament Hill and downtown, please stay safe. It is times like these, when we are sick with worry and horror and incredulity that we need to be even stronger so that we will not allow fear to change the kind of people we are as Canadians.
