Likewise , ( The context of obedience continues ) ye wives , be in subjection to your own husbands ( 1st Corinthians7:10-16 , Ephesians 5:24 , Colossians 3:18); that , (This is not only submission , but , submission to a husband that is not a good husband , or as the context suggest , as in the case of the servant and master in Chapter 2 ; one that is froward . ( unkind , or wicked ) if any obey not the word , they also without the word be won by the conversation ( manner of life , conduct , behaviour ) of the wives. While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear .( As always the admonition is given to the woman first , throughout the scripture , just as it was in Genesis 3:16 .
