Lil Bit was having problems today with her new heavily padded splints. She kept toppling over and is having trouble maintaining her balance. She is also licking and chewing on them. I called Dr. Au in Charleston because I was concerned about the ulcers turning into open wounds by next week. Plus she is just unable to function with the additional weight and size of the splints. Dr. Au was very concerned about the ulcers turning into open sores by next week as well. So, Dr. Au has rearranged her schedule to perform Lil Bits surgery this Thursday. Much thanks to Dr. Au and surgical staff for making this all possible! Thanks so much to Dr. Heather Lowman Duncan for referring us to Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. Thanks to all of Lil Bits donors, followers, WPDE News, and of course Sharon Tutrone! Unfortunately, this means that we will not be at the adoption event this Saturday.
