Lily of the Valley is a national flower of Finland. This flower is also known as Our Lady’s tears, because of the Christian legend created from Eve’s tears when she was taken away with Adam from the Garden of Eden. Also you can hear the name ‘’Mary’s tears’’ from the Christian legend that is sprang from the weeping of the virgin Mary during the crucifixion of Jesus. Lily of the Valley is native throughout the cool temperate Northern Hemisphere in Asia, Europe and in Appalachian Mountains in the United States. They are white petals, bell-shaped, 5-10 mm diameter, flowering is in late spring.
