Linfield supporters will now have heard that the club has been successful in appealing the £3,000.00 fine levied against us following the alleged misbehaviour of an element of our supporters following the Co. Antrim Shield semi-final in October 2013. This result should reassure our supporters, if there was ever any doubt, that the Board of Directors will work tirelessly to uphold our good name, whenever it is possible to do so. A considerable amount of work went into this appeal and the club will continue to contest any similar sanctions raised against us. In saying all of the above, however, our loyal and true supporters should not be complacent regarding any possible disciplinary action in the future. As a part-time club essentially staffed by volunteers, we cannot afford to devote valuable time, money and resources to dealing with such cases. Linfield are wholly opposed to sectarianism, bigotry and discrimination and will continue to make every effort to eradicate these evils from our sport. Any instance of any such singing, chanting or other offensive action from those professing to support our proud club will not be tolerated and the club will take every action open to us to ensure any offenders are punished to the full extent of the law.
