Ben first came to the Clare Valley in 2003 when he was recruited by local football club Mintaro-Manoora. It was the beginning of what would be a 10 year commitment, moving to the Valley shortly after in 2005. During his time in the Clare region Ben worked with local builder Peter Jones and SJM Carpentry before starting his own business venture with Kerslake Kitchens. Ben has been a great contributor to the local community, a person with positive influence and a kind nature. This past November Ben was diagnosed with melanoma. In the past few weeks he has undergone brain surgery to remove a tumour caused by this horrible cancer. In December 2014 Ben began radiation therapy followed by chemo therapy to treat the rest of his body. It will be a long road to recovery but one we are sure Ben will take in his stride. On Sunday February 22 we will be hosting a family fun day at Martindale Hall, Mintaro. We are seeking donations to contribute to our long lunch as well as items to be auctioned off on the day. Our objective is to offer relief for Ben and his family from the financial pressures of extensive medical treatments followed by significant time off of work. We thank you in advance.
