Linked In Devotion Day 10: Truly Alive Together Ephesians 2:19-22: “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” The grace of God brings the most unlikely people together and builds and shapes them into something beautiful. It reaches out to include the excluded, to love the unlovely and to invite the forgotten and then it unites us and together; making us come truly alive as the Body of Christ. It is in community – and particularly, in a community enlivened by God’s grace and empowered by His Spirit – that we are made truly alive as we live out the Gospel, serve one another, discover and use our gifts and see God’s miracles among us. Jesus unites us to Himself and to others by His love and shapes us into a spiritual dwelling in which the power of God’s Spirit can be released in the world. True life is only found in Christ and in being connected to His community – one that is continually growing and developing as Christ equips His people to manifest His presence in the world and move His Kingdom forward.
