Linux System Administrator required at ITRC in Islamabad Responsibilities and requirements • Install, configure and maintain server applications: web, dns, http, vpn, svn, firewalls, database, email etc. • Organize and maintain company network security • Design, deploy, maintain and support of company products and solutions, clients custom tailored solutions and company hosted cloud environment • Implement installation and automation procedures and scripts • Packaging of company software products with RPM • Troubleshoot and fix production problems • Other as required by company operations Requirements • 4+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems • Excellent understanding of Linux Kernel tuning and optimizations • Excellent understanding of Linux OS tuning and optimizations • Excellent understanding of Linux file systems tuning and optimizations • Excellent understanding of Linux performance tuning and optimizations • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP and Networking – switches, routers, network topology • Excellent understanding of high performance database installation and tuning – PostgreSql, MySQL • Knowledge of QoS network traffic filtering/policing and network security – iptables • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies – OpenVZ etc. • Extensive experience in installing, compiling and troubleshooting server side applications • Experience with maintaining multi server redundant high availability environments – heartbeat, pacemaker etc. • Experience with source control systems – Subversion • Proficiency in systems backup and restore and replication operations – rsync, amanda etc. • Proficiency in monitoring applications – nagios, cacti, snmp • Excellent knowledge of shell scripting and jobs automation • Knowledge of perl and php cli scripting and jobs automation • Exposure to VoIP technologies: asterisk, freeswitch, yate etc. • Experience with rpm package manager – creating packages and maintain repositories • Excellent communication skills and team working skills • Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills • Pro-active and collaborative mindset • Good written and spoken English Company network security Sample job interview questions It Jobs Telecom Jobs Post your CV at hr@itrcp
