List the cars you have had in your lifetime so far! Working in sales- doing outside sales and driving for a living for the majority of my career I have had probably more than my fair share of vehicles. Mine in order: 1987 Dodge Dakota Pickup truck 1990 Buick Century ( company car) 1990 Honda Prelude ( company car) 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix ( company car) 1988 Jeep Cherokee 1997 Chevy Lumina (company car) 1986 BMW 325 1985 BMW 525 1997 Olds Bravada SUV 2005 Dodge Durango SUV ( current vehicle) 2006 Chrysler 300 ( company car) 1998 Mercedes E320 12 vehicles over 26 years - only one was wrecked- that was my first BMW. The company cars were driven to the ends of their leases and turned in. The Dakota and BMW 525 were traded in, the Jeep and Bravada were driven into the ground and donated to charity, the Mercedes I sold when I moved to Mesa from Phoenix ( no room to park it ). If you subtract the 5 company cars- it is not that bad... Doing a rough tally- I have put about 500,000 miles on my vehicles in that time frame. The Dakota and Durango were purchased new - the other vehicles I have owned were all previously owned. The last few years have been light on driving miles- no commute per say means my cars get a break which is a good thing with gas as high as it is! The best car? I loved my sporty 325 BMW and was heartbroken when it was totaled. Best company car? The Chrysler was classy but I loved my Grand Prix. It was a great work horse and super reliable and could open up on the freeway. Worst company car? My Buick Century. Brand new car- the first transmission blew with less than 500 miles on it. Second one blew at 30, 000. It got really ugly after I drove it to Chinle in April to see clients on the reservation and got into a sand storm coming home. The clear coat was completed sand blasted off of the car leaving it a flat blue that was going to start peeling in no time. Best SUV/ Truck? My Dakota was a fun starter truck but I love my big hemi Durango. Plenty of power and has had relatively few problems over 8 years of ownership. Big, comfy and the mileage is not bad- only wish it had a sunroof like my smaller Bravada did. The worst SUV? My Jeep. I loved it but it was a money pit. I had a deep and lasting relationship with my mechanic in Framingham who really felt I should park it on Route 9 and let it get hit by a semi to put it out of its misery at the end...I ended up donating it to charity when we moved back west- after it had sat in dry dock in my driveway for 3 years. I have more roadside assistance stories with that Jeep- from it breaking down on my way home from the airport in Boston in the middle of the night - to having it break down on my way home from CT and meeting a state trooper and his police dog who took me to the nearby dealership to get it towed in after blowing an axle on the freeway.... to having a radiator hose blow on my way home from the beach and having a tow truck driver knock on my door- it was psychic roadside assistance! He was coming back from a job and followed the radiator fluid to me....If you did not know- even with premium AAA there is an annual limit on the number of tows you can get. It is 5. I know- I hit that limit and had to tap into my roadside assistance with my car insurance one year. I had my mechanic and AAA on speed dial on my cellphone.
