Listened to the first concert of the new season, and the Norwalk - TopicsExpress

Listened to the first concert of the new season, and the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra was great. It opened the season with Mahlers First Symphony, known as the Titan, which is about an hour and ten minutes long. The first part of the concert was essentially a lesson on what the famous composer did, and why, while composing the symphony. Musicians and singers from various youth ensembles helped the orchestra in this part of the program, while Jonathan Yates, the conductor, explained what was going on, musically speaking. The second part of the program was devoted entirely to the famous symphonu. If you havent gone before, these concerts are a great deal, especially for season ticket holder.
