Literatures destined revolution against time - YUGA 2014! When - TopicsExpress

Literatures destined revolution against time - YUGA 2014! When Science and Commerce holds the sceptre in the contemporary world, where does Literature come in? We started by searching for an answer. :) :) Everything was a blur in the beginning. We had only vague ideas about what we wanted to do and how to do it. And thanks to the master brain of our class #Divya_Rajeev, we were able to produce the idea of a literary fest- one like none other, she said. Starting from coupons- we made a super cool brochure (thanks to our Technical Committee #MeghaSheba and our Treasurer #Janet), we found sponsors (Kudos to #Anu), we made plans for a month of celebration and did not give a days rest to Devagiris staff (sincere thanks to #VibheeshettanShibuettan)! Then came the official launching of Yuga with the street play Navagrahangalude Thadavara (Lots of love and respect to #Swetha) and everyday we had new programs (thanks to #ShanuSruthiAnusreeSumiAnaghaShameelaSwetha). We worked day and night to make everything perfect and at every step we were supported by our beloved teachers. Our heartfelt gratitude to Nagesh Sir, Robin Sir, Salil Sir, Neethu Miss, Binoy Sir and Nithin Sir. They believed in us and that is what made us go forward - step by step, day by day! We are extremely grateful to Bibin Sir who helped us in spite of being miles away. A special thanks to our juniors who stood with us all the time and tolerated our exam mood swings! Thanks a ton. (#SahelManuIjazSachinAnaswar) The Beginning On 26 October internationally known films were screened in the PTA Hall (The Great Dictator, Saving Private Ryan and An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge) with a huge amount of help from Salil Sir and Robin Sir. We began by screening the splendid Yuga video which captured hearts! (Lots of love to #MeghaSania). The Middle The second day decorations were arrestingly beautiful (for which we are indebted to #ShanuSruthiAshish)! Yuga 2014 was officially inaugurated by Shri Klapatta Narayan and Shri Hareendran Edathumkara. Students from different colleges came to participate in the event Talking Pictures and we hope that they had a great time at Devagiri. Prizes for the events conducted as a part of Yuga were also distributed that day. The surprise gift was really surprising! (Salute to #Robin_Sir). :D :D The End Everything happened so fast on the third day that all we remember is the laughter and the sweetness of it. We had two events that day - Deep Focus and Quiz Quiz Bang Bang. While the former was a little dull, the latter was terrific. We bow down before the best of the quiz masters- Dr. S Nagesh. Thus, with a Quiz, the day ended! All the prizes for the winners and the participants were distributed that day. Our heartfelt thanks to all the judges for their impartial judgements and to all the participants for their effort. Thanks to Sheheba and Rajasree for capturing the wonderful three days. Yuga was made grand by the wonderful set of people in the Registration Committee - #AryaMelvinShanuSruthiDhanyaAshly! Yuga 2014 is one of its kind! WE fought and cried and argued for the silliest of things. But at the end of the day, we stood united! As Dumbledore said, It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. Thanks to Gayathri, Chaithanya and Divya for pushing us froward and keeping things together. We thank our sponsors from the bottom of our heart their financial support. Yuga 2014 is indeed a unique event in the history of Devagiri. The Department of English has once again charmed Devagiri with her extraordinary surprises and wonderful events. Yuga 2014 ends here but memories stay with us forever.. Kudos to all of us!!!!! Yugandyam.
