Little Monsters: The Sequel When I was a kid, I used to watch The Invisible Man. This is a guy who wore bandages just to be seen, and when he took them off there was nothing there. The guy was invisible. You just saw right through him. Well, many believers are living like invisible men; invisible believers, afraid to cause a stir or take a stand. But God says that we are to make a difference. You are the light of the world. If you dont take a stand, you wont make a difference. You have to stop being invisible; you are called to be a bright and shining light. Start shining as a believer, and let your light show up, let your Gospel show up, let the righteousness of God show up. Start manifesting the presence of God. Do not try to blend in with the world. You have the gospel of God, the power of God, make it known. Messiah didnt call you to be invisible. He called you to be the light. So be the light. Arise and shine and make the Lord visible. Todays Mission Be the salt and light and let your light so shine that it will cause others to marvel. Do something good for a stranger or your neighbor that reveals Gods love inside you, beaming out. Ephesians 5:8-9 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. Youre out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it. Strong and compelling purpose If youre too easily distracted, dont blame the distractions. Instead, consider how you could make your work more meaningful and compelling. Rather than fighting against the distractions, overpower them. Seek to put things in your life and your work that are so interesting and captivating that the plain old ordinary distractions are left with no way to compete. It’s much easier for the little, meaningless things to distract you if youre subconsciously looking for things to distract you. The more you focus on what’s truly important in your life, the less youll be knocked off your task by distractions. Imagine what you could focus on that would get you totally engaged and absorbed and immune to just about any kind of distraction. Imagine what things would be so thoroughly meaningful to you that it would be nearly impossible to pull you away from them. You owe it to yourself to follow a strong and compelling purpose. You owe it to life to work toward the achievement of those things that mean the most to you. Instead of letting yourself be too easily distracted, allow yourself to be filled with enthusiasm for following your authentic purpose. The more energy you give to what matters, the less youll be bothered by what doesnt. Be Here Now The past is history, so let it go. The future is a mystery, so let it come. The present is a gift – be truly in the present today and release all your fears (based on the past) and your worries (imagined futures) – this is the work of someone who truly wants to awaken, and break free from the anchors and burdens of dead yesterdays and speculative tomorrows. Be here now they say, easier said than done, I hear you say. But no one can stop us, except for ourselves. There is only now – everything else is avoidance. Love, Debbie
