Little Talbot Island State Park One of Florida’s few remaining undeveloped barrier islands is Little Talbot Island State Park. The area provides many diverse natural habitats. Gopher tortoises, shore birds and snakes can be seen throughout the park. Five miles of varied shoreline along the Atlantic Ocean provides an abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities. Follow the Little Talbot Hiking Trail over a cross section of ecosystems, and you may be surprised at what you find! Fish, surf, search for seashells or watch the birds while basking in the Florida sun. Camp out or come for the day. Little Talbot Island State Park is located 17 miles northeast of Jacksonville, on State Road A1A.
