Liverpool are fortunate to still be in the running to sign their twin targets from Dutch giants Ajax with Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld having rejected multiple offers from Russian clubs that have been keen on signing them. De Telegraaf reports that offers a plenty have come the way of Danish playmaker Eriksen and Belgian defender Alderweireld, but the awesome twosome are prepared to wait it out till they get a club of their choosing as they are otherwise happy in the Dutch capital and will only move this summer should an opportunity presents itself which would be a step forward in their respective careers. Liverpool are likely to face very differing levels of competition for the duos signature with AC Milan reportedly sniffing around Eriksen, while their competition for Alderweireld comes from a lot closer to home with neighbourhood rivals Everton reportedly keen on the Belgian’s signature. Liverpool have already bolstered their squad this summer with some key signings all over the pitch, and Manager Brendan Rodgers has declared previously that he is far from done with his spending just yet with at least 2-3 newcomers expected at the club as he looks to establish his own brand of football at Anfield.
