Living in the UK we have to put up with people non stop moaning about how terrible it is here, even though it is a land of opportunities that many risk their lives to get to. We live in a country that is so stable and democratic, almost nothing much happens, and where we can expect good care along with every freedom imaginable, from birth until death. Its not perfect, its not Utopia, but its not bad either. It is bizarre for me therefore to see on Facebook how many nationals from some of the most tyrannical countries on earth, the sort of places where dissenters get tortured for one complaint, firmly believe they are living in paradise on earth. They might have war mongering presidents who embezzle billions of dollars for themselves, very limited personal or economic freedoms, a terrible economy, no free health care and salaries not even one tenth of our minimum wage but they fiercely defend their state and their self proclaimed Glorious leaders. They believe them to be heroes that must not be criticised or defamed for any reason at all. Where do democratic countries go wrong?
