Our dream home happens to be a 350 sq ft tiny house on wheels, built from reclaimed materials. This custom construction project has taught us novice builders a great deal about patience, perseverance and the joys and challenges of learning on the job as a team! We are ready for the next step: finding a location in which to live in our tiny house. About us: we are a little family of three. Mom (32) is a RN at RJH who loves yoga, hiking and holistic nutrition. Dad (35) is a web developer who enjoys cross-country mountain biking, playing guitar and DIY projects. Little one is 2 and is passionate about books and ladybugs. We are on a journey toward simplicity. We are choosing to spend our daughters early years in a tiny home in order to build a more intimate connection as a young family, to spend more time outdoors enjoying this beautiful island and to foster in ourselves and our child an appreciation for a life lived simply. Our ideal arrangement would be to rent a space from someone with an acreage, farm or large semi-urban property that is close enough for us both to continue to commute to work by bicycle (we both work downtown). Saanich would be our ideal community but we are open to any offers. Our requirements: regular water supply and 15/20 amp electrical hookup (one or two extension cords from the outside of your home to ours). Sewer hookup optional (we can use a composting toilet). We would like to add a patio off the front of our house for eating outside as well as have a clothesline in the warm months. Our house is 32 ft long x 8 ft wide x 13 ft high. If youd like a mortgage helper with absolutely no overhead, this could be a great arrangement for both parties. We are excited to hear from you!
