Local man arrested in connection to multiple robberies CHESANING — An 25-year-old Owosso man was taken into custody early Friday morning by Saginaw County Sheriff’s Officers in connection with multiple break-ins and robberies. Lt. Randy Pfau of the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office said Friday the suspect was apprehended around 1:30 a.m. Friday, with burglary tools and about $500 in cash in his possession. Pfau said the suspect committed five break-ins and robberies in Chesaning — at Curves, Housekeys Real-estate, Farm Bureau Insurance, China King and Subway — before he was pulled over during a traffic stop. Pfau said the sheriff’s office believes the suspect has been involved in a series of break-ins over the past several days, including three others in the area, one at the Chesaning Township American Legion and two in St. Charles at Pauluzzi Pizza and Advanced Eye Care. The suspect is currently being held at Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and is expect to be charged early next week. Pfau said the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office was tipped off about the suspect by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office, which has been investigating him. The suspect is currently on parole for burglary in Shiawassee County. “We couldn’t have done it without their help,” Pfau said about the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office. Pfau said Saginaw County Sheriff’s officers were also assisted by St. Charles Police Department and the Department of Corrections.
