Lone Survivor. I read the news daily. World news. Its important. Its the world. What happens today ends up being history. I remember reading about Operation Red Wings not long after it happened. That kind of news, news about our military failures seem to hit almost instantly as opposed to success. Building schools. Providing aid. Infrastructure. Removing known heinous combatants. I read the story with a heavy heart. Then I started to read the details about Murph the Protector and his brothers. About Marcus. They gave so much for each other, asking nothing in return. When the shit hits the fan its not about ideology, political alliances, or religion. Its about the brother next to you. And doing everything you can to your last breath to get them home as they do the same for you. When you scoff at your cell phone bill, get pissed when someone cuts you off, get bummed out when you cant buy that thing you want, just think about what those men did. Think about what these men do. It will really put things in perspective and if it doesnt then YOU are the problem with this country. If we all even had a shred of the selflessness of these warriors this country would be so different. If we didnt feel as if we deserve things as opposed to earning things, do you know what that could change? I may be sounding as if Im pushing a message. But Im really not. If you see this movie and think its pushing some sort of agenda, you are missing the point, and indeed may be part of the problem. But please see this. See it for Murph, Dietz, Axelrod, and Luttrell. See it for those who came before you and those who are about to go. You owe them all those little things we enjoy so much in this country that we take for granted. I may not have been able to serve my country how I had hoped being turned down by two branches, but that wont stop me from being the best citizen I can be an upholding our Constitution and Rights here, at home. I will be the best man I can be for those who gave all. Thank you for keeping my freedoms safe. Goodall out
