Lone releases Book on Mathematics by Dr. Rajshree Jammu: Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone today released a book on Mathematics “Gateway to Complex Analysis written by Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, Nodal Officer J&K Institute of Mathematical Anylysis Sub Office Jammu at a function organized at GGM Science College Jammu. The Minister released the book in presence Prof. S.D. Sharma, HOD Mathematics, Central University Jammu, Dr. D.N. Sahi Department of Zoology, Principal GGM Science College Jammu, Prof. Nutan Rasotra, principals of other colleges and staff members from colleges. The Minister, while highlighting the importance of Mathematics in the evolution of human knowledge said that entire life is based on mathematics. He said this branch of knowledge has a place in all the religions, while from times immemorial it has been used in all aspects. He stressed upon the students and teachers to learn latest trends in mathematics and apply them accordingly. He also congratulated Dr. Dhar for contributing towards the society by writing books on mathematics. The Minister also facilitated the topper of science stream of GGM Science College. Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, the author of the book in her address, said that the present book introduces the knowledge of complex analysis which is a powerful tool and beautiful part of mathematics and forms the basis of many techniques employed in many branches of mathematics and physics. The interesting part of the book is that it gradually develops the subject with historical background and the applications of well known results. She also said that the books are being distributed through the web portal of the publisher of Kolkota (power-publisher and e-bay.in, besides these are also available at local book sellers. Earlier, the Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of new gate (Deodi) of GGM Science College Jammu.
