Look up and open yourself to new possibilities. I had an amazing day serving the good folks in Bellingham, WA. It was suggested that I take Washington State Highway 11, Chuckanut Drive, from Fairhaven to the Skagit Valley on my travels back to Seattle. As I crossed the bridge into the Skagit Valley, I looked up and noticed a single paraglider descending above me. It appeared that he would be landing just off the highway ahead. I pulled over to watch him land because I am interested in learning more about paragliding. He landed in a field where there were a couple of cars parked and several people standing near by. After the paraglider landed, I decided to pull into the field and see what I could learn. The people were very kind and shared a lot of good information with me. I told them that I hope to go paragliding soon. They invited me to join them to the top of the Smamish Overlook and watch them fly. I was dressed in suit trousers, a botton down shirt, and dress shoes, but I thought, Why not? So I loaded up in a pick up truck and accompanied three paragliders to the top. This video shows one of my new friends flying high. With all of them taking to the skies, I drove their vehicle back down to the base area. What an adventure. I learned so much. None of this would have been experienced had I not stopped the rental car, stretched my comfort zone, and made new friends. Carpe Diem!
