Looking for opinions here. Today I tried to return an item to a national chain store and was refused the return. The story is that I bought a 1 month SIM card to use here while in the states, but the store employee didnt know if it was compatible with my phone or not. So she said said, try it, if it doesnt work, just bring it back and well refund your money. Well, it didnt work. I brought it back and the manager said they cant take returns on this item, because its written on a paper INSIDE the packaging. I informed him that his employee gave me their word that I could return it, but this meant nothing to him. Am I correct in thinking this is really poor management? If Im in the wrong here, please point it out. I left there baffled. My understanding of management, at least in this case, is to take responsibility for what their employees do and say, not to pass the buck on to the customer. Geesh
