Looking forward to our first interactive LIVE ONLINE GUITAR WORKSHOP tomorrow! This way to the stage & to grab the last of the 3 remaining $10 tickets >>> https://stageit/jeff_young_jeff_young_sherri_megadeth/jeff_young_online_interactive_guitar_workshop/38521 Just to get you in the mood, thought it would be nice to share a few of my favorite instumental songs Ive written, rehearsed and/or recorded over the past few years: 1. MONSOON - Featuring Tina Guo-Morabito - Cello / Ric Fierabracci - Fretless Bass / Brian Tichy - Drums. Theres a lot of influences on this song - Im a HUGE gypsy jazz & Django Reinhardt aficionado & I wanted to blend some of those elements into a suped-up prog rock format ala Mahavishnu Orchestra, RUSH, etc. The gypsy vibe got me hearing viola or cello in my head & I was lucky enough to have the spectacular, Tina Guo formerly of Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque du Soleil on my radio show, n I bribed her to play on the track... https://youtube/watch?v=lINjYyiKr60&list=UU9N95F_IUiAyt75pOQNcZdg 2. SOLAIS - Featuring Badi Assad - Vocal effects, Body & mouth percussion, nylon string guitar / Sage Sansone - Vocalizations / Jake Wolf - Fretless Bass / Matt Chamberlain - Drums. Theres gypsy influence on this one as well; the intro is more moody steel-string guitar improvisation but when the fast section begins, I imagined my Martin acoustic was an old Selmer Jazz Manouche guitar... great drums on this one by Matty Chamberlain who youve heard drumming for Tori Amos, Fiona Apple oh and hes out now drumming for some band called, Soundgarden? :P \m/ https://youtube/watch?v=unkZiuAmwmA&list=UU9N95F_IUiAyt75pOQNcZdg 3. BALLISTIC - *Rehearsal Video* James LoMenzo - Bass / Jeff Bowders - Drums. This song is loosely dedicated/inspired by the late, great Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. I remember I was on vacation in Punta Cana when I heard on CNN what happened & only 1 hour from where I grew up in Ohio. I really loved Dimes lead playing and the riffs he wrote. I wanted this song to have a real military & percussive type of syncopation. Megadeth fans might notice I reprised my solo from Hook In Mouth for one of the lead sections. This is exactly the solo I will be teaching note-for-note in the 2nd half of tomorrows workshop!! https://youtube/watch?v=ip16yZEuAKk&list=UU9N95F_IUiAyt75pOQNcZdg
