Looks like our jakfruit tree is finally coming into its own. When I broke my arm, I wrote off this years crop. They had as usual developed from the bottom of the trunk, sitting on the ground, and were quickly attacked by creepy-crawlies anyway. But it has grown to be thirty feet tall this year, and this afternoon I happened to look up, and spotted a second crop! Three large (probably about 50 lbs) gorgeous looking jakfruit growing at about 12, 15 and 20 feet of height. They look like they would be primo for making a batch of jakfruit wine. But how to harvest them? They are beyond the reach of any ordinary step ladder. I suggested possibly climbing the tree to Peggy. Whereupon my bride smiled broadly, and said Oh sure - what could possibly go wrong with that? :)
