Lord Jesus, sacrifice is not exactly my favorite subject. In fact, I avoid it at all costs. I recognize that I am far too quick in choosing mercy for myself, and sacrifice for others. I need to learn the lesson that sacrifice is a part of life and a part of love-I can either resent sacrifice and complain at every turn, or I can accept it out of love for you and for my neighbor. I desire this latter option as the way to everlasting life, to grow in holiness. I want to become more like you, being quicker to share your mercy with those around me.
