Lord, we thank You for the blessings which You have graciously given us on this first workday of this week: For safety in traveling to and from our place of work; For health and strength to be useful; For the completion of a task well done and for the approval of our superiors; For the pleasant companionship of our associates in work; For protection against the physical hazards that accompany our work; For the food, clothing, and shelter that our labor has purchased for us; For the opportunity to show ourselves as Christians to those around us, and for the courage to speak for You; For these and all other blessings. we thank You. Lord, help us constantly to become better workers. Help us to remember that we are serving not only ourselves but also You and our fellow brothers and sisters. Make us always willing to do a days work for a days pay, and to give more of ourselves to others. Lord, give us a peaceful heart in our dealings with others. Help us to love them, and help them to love us, remembering always Your own great love for us and all people. As we fall asleep, give us joy in our Savior Jesus Christ and the full assurance that is Him we have forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Amen.
