Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy - TopicsExpress

Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? (Psalm 15.1) In the 15th Psalm, David wonders, “Who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?” David is not talking about heaven as the final abode of the righteous, but rather he is referring to the temple in Jerusalem and to the hill upon which Jerusalem and the temple sat. He was talking about life in this world lived out in high and holy fellowship with God. The New Testament clearly teaches that now the sanctuary or temple is the Church. The question is still valid, but could perhaps be rephrased as, “Lord, who is really a part of the Church?” We would do well to note what marks a man or woman as being a part of the temple of the living God: • Blameless in behavior • Righteous in character • Truthful in conversation • Kind in speech • Honest in relationships • Honorable in reports • Careful in associations • Loyal in the church • Trustworthy in transactions • Generous in heart • Fair in judgment We should examine our lives to see if we are truly living in fellowship with God and his people! May God work all these qualities into your character as you live on his holy hill! Pastor Scott
