Lots of great myth-busting going on here! My favorite is #8: We have all heard it: Eat bananas, which contain high doses of potassium, to avoid muscle cramps. Martinez explained recent research doesn’t suggest the correlation.... [Cramping] has more to do with not training properly or you are dehydrated. Cramping issues late in a race? A focus on proper form, not over-training in the days leading up to the race, and building endurance during training to handle the race distance can all help you avoid cramps in the future. (But, hey.... bananas will still be my go-to food on race morning!)
